lilacs.

True order of events tonight...

I am walking morton and i pass a lilac tree. It smells so good that i walk into the yard to smell it.

In my head i say, "i wish i had an olfactory phone. I would take a picture of this lilac bush and then email it to myself so i could smell it later."

I consider stealing a flower bunch but relent.

I get home and realize i still haven't mailed the packages i was supposed to mail so i rush off to the post office near my house.

But i'm just a half hour too late and it's closed.

I turn to leave the post office but realize i can't turn left onto powell blvd so i turn the other way to jog over a couple blocks.

At the corner i come to roya and jason's house, and i see roya out along the sidewalk so i pull over to say hi. She walks over holding a branch of lilac flowers in a jar of water and says, "do you like lilac flowers?"

My room is now filled with the lovely smell of fresh lilac. Some days i am amazed by serendipity.
