beach weekend...

a mellow couple days away.

a much-needed weekend away with friends in lincoln city, with not much to do but comb the beach for random shells and hermit crabs, knit, drink wine, cook meals, play board games, and eat top notch fish tacos.

we even went for a run on the beach this morning, which by the way, is super exhausting if you never run on the beach.

this fall has had super highs and super lows.
it's good to know that some things are constant. like friends. and laughter. and the ocean waves.
here's some of the group... forgot to get a group shot this time...

sadly, oil bubbles in the rocks, although it was as beautiful as it was grotesque.
alive or dead? you decide.
i was really into collecting rocks in all colors of the rainbow. i ended up with a full spectrum.
maybe i was really into color overall this trip... this little growth was amazing. like fire on stone.
we hunted for a long time for things in the tide pools, and my favorite was this little hermit crab who was super speedy every time we picked him up and moved him to the edge of his pool. he would scurry as fast as he could down the sandy wall to the bottom. he was so cute.

thanks, friends.
